The red decals are inspired by the classic Corolla 1600 Coupe rally car that took Toyota's first WRC victory back in 1973
Toyota introduced a new special edition of the GR Yaris hot hatch, with a limited production of 51 units, reserved for the Italian market. The GR Yaris TGR Italy Limited Edition celebrates 51 years since the automaker¡¯s first victory in the World Rally Championship, with a vintage livery and unique badging.
The TGR Italy Limited Edition is distinguished from the red decals over a white bodywork, making it look like a rally car. The livery is inspired by the classic Corolla 1600 Coupe that took Toyota¡¯s first WRC victory at the 1973 Press On Regardless Rally in Michigan.
Another unique touch on the exterior is the TGR Italy limited edition emblem. A similar badge can be found inside the cabin, bearing the production number of each unit. The hot hatch rides on a set of 18-inch forged wheels finished in Heritage Gold and shod in semi-slick Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires.
Standard equipment includes the Tech Package, adding parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert with automatic braking.
There are no changes on the turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine, which produces 276 hp (206 kW / 280 PS) in the facelifted EU-spec model. The TGR Italy Limited Edition is exclusively available with the eight-speed automatic gearbox, sending power to all four wheels via the rally-bred GR-Four system.
The GR Yaris TGR Italy Limited Edition will be exclusively available on Toyota¡®s Italian website, starting September 9. Each of the 51 units will be priced at €67,500 ($74,594), with deliveries expected by the end of 2024. The pre-order requires a deposit of €2,500 ($2,762), which includes a test ride with the racecar, two VIP passes for the 2025 TGR Italy season, a special car cover, and Gazoo Racing sportswear.
